Clean and Simple Watercolor Cards!

Here are a few more examples of my journey on learning the basics of water coloring.  I am enjoying this very much in spite of the fact that I have created so many muddy messes because I am too impatient to allow the watercolor medium to DRY completely before adding another color!  My bad! 

The first five cards are from Art Impressions using their rubber stamps and WC markers. Please visit their website and videos if you want to see lovely, true examples of what I'm working towards.

The next two cards were created using Rubber Stampede and Stamps N' More rubber stamps. I stamped the images with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and used a  Crayola kids, cake watercolor kit from Walmart.

These last two cards used Stampin' Up images with the same ink and watercolor. Martha Stewart punch around the page paper punches were also used.

So much to learn...so much fun!

WATERCOLORING IMAGES AS A FOCAL POINT ON CARD

Now I remember why I decided to call this blog "Card Factory."   Once I get started on trying something new, I go overboard and into mass production and an assembly line.  

I am thoroughly enjoying playing and learning how to color using a variety of watercolor mediums...markers, pencils, and a kid's paint box. I have a miscellaneous set of brushes in a variety of sizes and shapes and have been watching a few blogs for information and ideas.  I am using an old floor tile as a palette to mix colors. All lots of FUN!  Being retired I am not too serious about anything, so enjoyment is the key here for me. 

Some of the images (1-5) are from old Stamping' Up sets and are probably retired.  They were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and did not bleed when colored with markers from my palette. I used watercolor paper and and torn paper technique.  My usual (CAS) Clean and Simple style is featured here.

The last five images are from Art Impressions and are actually three cards with the last two featuring the "Front and Back" images that are hilarious and always a surprise to the recipient! 

So I'm having fun and learning something new... to me.

Watercolor Beginnings With Rubber Stamps and Markers, Clean and Simple

I have a new technique that I want to learn. It's water coloring on a small scale to use as a focal point on my cards.  I Googled it and found tutorials by Art Impressions. They are one of my favorite RS Stores and I have always been happy with my purchases. 

This is entirely new to me and I'm fascinated and excited about all there is to learn.  I'll be watching more tutorials and practicing as I am learning. Here is what I have done so far...
